The Ride that Stayed with Me:

Real Stories from Park Travel Passengers – Part II

If you read Part I, you already know what this series is about. Five services, real passengers, and the small moments that turned an ordinary ride into something worth remembering. If you haven’t yet, you can catch up on Part I here: The Ride that Stayed with Me: Real Stories from Park Travel Passengers – Part I before diving into these.

In Part I, we heard from Karthik, Arun, and Deepa – a proposal that almost went wrong, a corporate commute that changed how someone shows up on work, and a daughter’s relief when her elderly mother landed safely.

Here are three more stories.

Employee transportation service

He Always Waited till I Went Outside – Employee Transportation Service

Rekha, 29, Singanallur

Night shift rotation at my company. I was okay with the work. The going-home part – that used to bother me.

1 AM, 2 AM, standing outside an office building waiting for a cab. You know how it is. You don’t feel fully relaxed until you’re home.

Our HR finally set up a proper employee transportation service through Park Travel. Before that we were managing whatever office transport cabs were available, which honestly wasn’t always reliable. Once Park Travel came in, things changed completely. The cab would be there before I even stepped out. After a few weeks it was the same driver most nights, so it felt familiar. He’d say which route we’re going, I’d confirm, and that was it. No unnecessary conversation, no making me uncomfortable. Just drove. The thing that got me – nobody told him to do this, I think – he would always wait outside till I went inside my building. Every single time. Even late, even after a long night. Just waited.

A lot of companies talk about corporate employee transport solutions. What that actually means on the ground – for someone like me, going home alone at 2 AM – is this. A known face, a safe car, and someone who waits. That’s it. I didn’t even know you could get premium cabs in Singanallur for night shift drops until HR told us. Now I can’t imagine going back to the old way.

The Trip We Kept Postponing – Outstation Ride Service

Sathish, 52, RS Puram

Ooty. My wife and me, we were planning this trip for many years. Not a big trip — just us, the ghats, few days of quiet. Every year something comes up. Children, work, this and that.

Last year our daughter booked an outstation cab service through Park Travel as a surprise for our anniversary. She’d used them before for intercity cabs in Coimbatore and trusted them enough to book it for us without asking. That itself said something. Driver came early morning. He knew the route well — not just driving; he knew where to stop for chai, how long the ghat section takes, which side to sit for the view. He’d done many outstation rides on this road, but he didn’t make us feel like just another booking.

On the ghat, my wife saw a viewpoint she wanted to stop at. He found a spot, parked safely, and didn’t hurry us. We stood there for maybe 15-20minutes. Just looking. No tension about time because the trip had a fixed package rate. That feeling — no meter running, no guilt about stopping — that is worth a lot. Coming back, my wife slept in the back. I sat in the front. The driver and I talked — about Nilgiris, about how that whole region has changed over the years. A real conversation. The kind you don’t expect from a stranger but sometimes you get. We reached home that evening and rested. That almost never happens after a road trip.

My wife already said, same trip next year. I think we will.

I Almost Missed My Flight. The Cab didn’t Let Me – Airport Pickup Service

Vignesh, 45, Race Course

I’ll admit it straight up – I’m bad with time. Always have been. My wife says I’d be late for my own flight, and honestly, I nearly was.

I had a 6 AM flight to Bangalore for a client meeting, the kind you can’t reschedule. The night before, I was so caught up packing and going through my presentation that I completely lost track of the clock. By the time I checked, it was almost 3:45 AM and my cab – booked through Park Travel’s airport taxi service – was already outside. The driver had been waiting nearly ten minutes, quietly, and didn’t even ring the bell twice.

I came down half-ready, shoes in hand, shirt not even tucked in. He just smiled and said, “Sir, don’t worry, we’ll reach on time.” No lecture, no attitude. Just calm. On the drive, I realized I’d forgotten my ID proof folder. I panicked – told him to turn back. He didn’t argue, didn’t sigh, just made a smooth U-turn, waited outside while I ran in and grabbed it, and got back on the road like it was nothing. That deviation alone took us almost 12 minutes. I kept checking the time the entire ride, convinced I was going to miss the flight. He didn’t say much, just drove steadily, took a route I wouldn’t have thought of. We reached the airport pickup and drop point with about 25 minutes to spare. I practically ran inside, made it through security just in time.

Later, sitting on the flight, I actually laughed thinking about it. I travel a lot for work, mostly using corporate cab service for these early morning runs, but this one stuck with me. Not because someone else stayed calm when I clearly wasn’t. That airport premium taxi ride probably saved my meeting that day. And maybe a bit of my reputation too.

More Stories. More Voices.

Six stories so far. But there are many more people, and many more rides than these pages can hold.

Maybe it’s the proposal that almost slipped away. Maybe it’s a mother’s voice on the phone, laughing instead of worrying. Maybe it’s simply someone waiting outside your gate until you’re safe inside. That’s what we’ve been trying to build at Park Travel for over 15 years — not just rides, but the kind of journeys people remember. And we’re just getting started. There’s more to this series than passenger stories alone — some of it from people you don’t usually hear from. We’ll save that for next time.

If any of these stories felt familiar, or if you’ve got one of your own, we’d love to hear it.

Every Journey Ends. Some Just Stay with You Longer.
